How a flat panel becomes a sculpture
Each panel is clear acrylic engraved with thousands of fine lines. The LED base shines light up through the bottom edge of the panel. Every line catches that light at a slightly different angle, and your eyes read the pattern as depth, shadow and volume.
Switched off, it's a clear sheet you can barely see. Switched on, it's a moon, a dinosaur or a unicorn hanging in the air.
Get the best effect
- Peel off the film. The panel ships with a protective film on both sides. The effect only shows once it's removed.
- Dim the room. The darker the room, the stronger the 3D look. It's made for bedtime.
- Look from the front. The illusion is strongest facing the panel, a little above eye level.
Is it safe?
The LEDs stay cool to the touch, the panel is acrylic (not glass) and everything runs on low-voltage USB power.
